Experiencing God’s Power

The Word of God is clear on His desire for us (everyone) to be healed and whole in their body. In Isaiah 53:4-6 shows how Jesus bore our griefs, carried our sorrows and He was wounded and bruised, chastised and beaten for our healing. And again in I Peter 2:24, the Bible says: “Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.” (KJV)

I had cancer when I first became a Christian and I didn’t really know much about all this then. That was almost 30 years ago. Many times in the past, I have had something wrong in my body — an ache that was similar to the cancer pain I had felt previously or something that I knew someone else had experienced. (see how important what we pay attention to, focus on and let into our souls is for our spiritual growth?) I remember thinking, “I don’t have the money to go to a doctor”, or “it’s the middle of the night, I have to work tomorrow and I’m not going to a hospital tonight.” Then, I would take what I had learned about faith and God’s healing power, His love for us and I would do what Jesus said to do in Mark 11:22-25. I would take my authority as a believer and have faith in God. I would speak to the sickness or pain and tell it to be removed now in the name of Jesus. The pain or issue would usually go away immediately or soon after. There have been times when it didn’t work, but it was because I wasn’t listening to God or had my own thoughts on it and went with that instead of God’s promptings.

Friend, I tell you, you are the authority on this earth. God has already done all. He has sent Jesus. Jesus paid the full price for your healing, for your life more abundantly, for your financial increase, for everything good if you have received Him as Lord of your life. He redeemed you from the curse of the law into the blessing of the Lord. (Read Deut:28 for blessing and cursing; Prov 10:22 and Galatians 3:13 to see that we are redeemed from the curses).

If you have not received Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. I encourage you to do it now. Don’t wait another minute in the curse. Get over into the blessing. Just ask Him to come into your life and do something with it and He will. Amazing and wonderful things. You will have success with Him.
